“So, what’s it like to launch a brand new event property just prior to the emergence of a global pandemic?” This question was posed to me in a lighthearted fashion a couple weeks back and I thought it was important to address in this newsletter.
For the past 18 months, our team has spent significant time and money creating an e-mobility brand from scratch. Electrify Expo is the result of some of the best minds in the business and the momentum and participation going into our Sept 2020 event in Orange County, CA was unlike anything I had ever seen in my 20 years of producing events.
As stay at home orders continued to lengthen, we grew increasingly concerned not just about the odds of producing the event in 2020, but also, how the overall experience with e-mobility products might be impacted on-site for attendees. Driving an electric vehicle, e-bike, e-scooter or e-anything…especially for the first time, is such a sensory, mind-bending experience. That ‘light switch’ moment that comes via a demo experience is key in helping people see mobility in a brand new way.
Electrify Expo will be producing not one, not two, but three large e-mobility festivals in 2021.
As events continued cancelling and postponing all around us, we held out hope that we’d make it. Then the phone rang. It was the venue telling us to postpone until 2021.
So, although we’ve been forced to postpone our 2020 event, we’re going to use that energy and come out swinging with more passion, determination and focus than ever before in 2021. We’re going bigger and better with 3 events!
2021 is going to be an amazing year for e-mobility AND for Electrify Expo. The world’s leading e-mobility manufacturers, service providers, utility and technology companies have embraced Electrify as a place for consumers to experience the best the industry has to offer. We are looking forward to sharing our e-mobility energy with you!
